Deputy Chairman of Commission IX DPR RI Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena visited the PT. Taishan Alkes Indonesia

Deputy Chairman of Commission IX DPR RI Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena visited the rapid test kit factory swab antigens in order to support locally made products. test kit factory swab antigen, PT Taishan Alkes Indonesia, was established in Tegal Alur, Kalideres, West Jakarta (Jakbar), in June 2020.

"Today, our presence at PT Taishan saw and witnessed the production process, technical equipment, approval from the Ministry of Health, and other labs. It turns out that the presence of PT Taisan is a form of implementation of the embodiment of the spirit that was inflamed by Pak Jokowi for the Presidential Instruction," he said at PT Taishan Alkes Indonesia, Tegal Alur, Kalideres, West Jakarta, Friday (12/3/2021).

The Presidential Instruction that Melki meant was Presidential Instruction Number 6 of 2016 concerning the acceleration of the development of domestically produced medicines and medical devices, which was issued by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Melki emphasized that Commission IX of the DPR fully supports the birth of local health products.

"So the 2016 Presidential Instruction has become a kind of order to all ministries and institutions to carry out and encourage (this product)," said Melki.

"We, the DPR RI, Commission IX, of course fully support domestic products in the health sector, which have already passed the applicable regulatory process and have also received marketing authorization from the relevant authorities," he continued.

Existence of test equipment factoryswab This antigen, according to Melki, is in line with the message from President Jokowi who some time ago was about 'love of domestic products'. He also regrets that so far, locally made products have not been a priority for use.

"So what needs to be noted is that sometimes the relevant ministries or regional agencies don't buy them. Now, it's time for all of us, after we see it's good, it must be used, "explained Melki.

Melki emphasized that all parties should contribute to the success of local products. The attitude of 'love of local products', he continued, helped develop the Indonesian economy.

“My encouragement is for all parties, so buy and love Indonesian products. And give room for all potential domestic products to develop, for example in the future there will be medicines for the red and white archipelago vaccines, so we will give room for various other products to grow in this country," he explained.

Factory leaders admit that their products have not been absorbed by the government. For product distribution, he needs support from the government.

"The current obstacle is more in distribution because the absorption of our goods has not been fully absorbed by the government, so we need support" full from the government,” explained Cahyadi Burhan, President Commissioner of PT Taishan Alkes Indonesia at the location.

Cahyadi explained, initially this factory produced test kits rapid antibody. But currently this factory also produces test kits swab antigen.

Currently, the factory is capable of producing up to 150 thousand kits swab test antigen.

"Our production is currently at 100 thousand to 150 thousand. When we expand our capacity, the total can reach 400 to 500 thousand per day, "explained Cahyadi.

The materials of swab test antigen itself are also mostly derived from local products. This is increasingly convincing to help develop domestic production.

"We buy the majority of materials in local factories, local industries so that we support them in their welfare so that their jobs are opened, their products are opened, the economy can continue," said Cahyadi.

However, some of these factory materials are still imported from abroad because the materials are difficult to find in Indonesia. "For example, we import the reagent for testing. But cotton swab, boxes, plastics, all of our packaging from local manufacturers, “he said.

Then, he also said that his future plan is to expand distribution abroad.

“The target itself may be to Asia, neighboring countries, especially Southeast Asia, or to China directly. So in the future, we have a target export plan for the next month," said Cahyadi.
